Russia's juice and dairy products producer Wimm-Bill-Dann said on Wednesday it had acquired a 63.53 percent stake of a dairy factory in Siberia for an undisclosed sum.

Nazarovskoye Milk, a modernised plant located in the Krasnoyarsk region, processes up to 300 tons of raw milk per day, Wimm-Bill-Dann said in a statement.

Tinned dairy products make up about 70 percent of the plant's output.

Prior to the acquisition Wimm-Bill-Dann delivered its dairy products from its plant in Novosibirsk, 800 km (500 miles) from Krasnoyarsk, which made it difficult to increase Wimm-Bill-Dann's presence in the city and the surrounding area.

"Following the acquisition of Nazarovskoye Milk (Wimm-Bill-Dann) will expand into new niches of the dairy market and penetrate a new perspective region with a high growth potential," it said in a statement.
